How to compress a PDF
Pick a PDF (scanned/image-heavy works best), balance clarity and size with the two sliders, then click “Compress PDF” to build a smaller file locally and download it. Note: this redraws each page as an image, so text is no longer selectable—ideal for scan archives and photo contracts.
FAQ
Why can’t I select text after compressing?
This tool shrinks by “resampling into images and repackaging”, turning each page into a picture and losing the text layer. For selectable text, use native image-stream compression (coming later).
Which PDFs shrink the most?
Image-only/scanned PDFs (essentially photos) shrink the most. Text PDFs that are already small with lots of vector art may grow or barely change.
