Auto-detect the background color and turn solid or simple backgrounds into a transparent PNG, or swap to white/blue/red (ID photo). There are also two on-device AI modes: "AI Portrait" (fast, people only) and "AI HD (general)" which runs BRIA RMBG-1.4 locally to cut out any subject — people, products, animals, objects — and needs a WebGPU-capable browser (latest Chrome / Edge). Everything runs locally; nothing is uploaded.
JPG only: if exceeded, quality is lowered automatically to stay near the cap (transparent PNG is not capped).

What does this tool do?
It works two ways: ① chroma-key makes areas close to the background color transparent, with adjustable tolerance and feather; ② AI Portrait runs a local ONNX model (WebAssembly) to find the person automatically — ideal for portraits and complex backgrounds. Both run entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
FAQ
Which images work best?
Solid or near-solid backgrounds give the best results — white-background products, ID photos, screenshots. The more the subject differs from the background, the cleaner the edge.
Can it cut complex backgrounds (scenery, crowds)?
Chroma-key needs a single background color and works best on solid/gradient backgrounds. For portraits, ID photos or busier backgrounds, switch to "AI Portrait". If the subject is not a person (product, animal, object) or the background is very cluttered, "AI HD (general)" is better — it runs BRIA RMBG-1.4 locally to cut out any subject, but needs a WebGPU-capable browser (latest Chrome / Edge). Use chroma-key when you want fine edge control on solid backgrounds.
Are images uploaded?
No. Loading, cutting out and downloading all happen with the Canvas API inside your browser; the file never leaves your device.
Can it make ID photos?
Yes. After cutting out, tick "Make an ID photo", pick a standard size (1-inch / 2-inch / passport / US visa, or a custom mm size) and resolution (300/350/600 DPI). It auto-crops to the compliant ratio and swaps in a white / blue / red background, exporting JPG or PNG. Drag the preview to fine-tune the subject position. Use the "Output background" swatches to change the color.
