What can this tool do?

Composite a subtitle file straight into the picture to produce a hardcoded video: loading an SRT or VTT lists every cue with its timecode, and you can shift all cues earlier or later to fix audio drift. Style covers font size, text and outline colours, outline width, horizontal and vertical placement and margins, with three quality levels. The result plays with subtitles everywhere and depends on no sidecar file — handy for short-form publishing and course material. Everything runs locally.

FAQ

Hardcoded vs sidecar subtitles?

Hardcoded subtitles are painted into the picture: they cannot be switched off or changed, but they show on any device and no platform will miss them because a sidecar file was lost. Sidecar subtitles are a separate text file that can be toggled and offers multiple languages, yet vanish entirely if the file is missing. This tool produces hardcoded subtitles.

What if subtitles are clipped or too close to the edge?

Adjust the position, margins and font size. If text runs off the edge, raise the margins or reduce the font size; if a busy background makes it hard to read, increase the outline width or pick a lighter outline colour.
