Is it fair?
It uses a Fisher-Yates shuffle to fully randomize the list, then assigns by mode: “split into N groups” deals round-robin so group sizes differ by at most 1; “groups of N” slices sequentially; “pick a name” draws one uniformly. Each press re-shuffles.
FAQ
Is the list uploaded?
No. Names are processed locally and cleared on refresh; nothing is sent to a server.
What if it doesn’t divide evenly?
“Split into N groups” distributes the remainder to the first groups (sizes differ by at most 1); with “groups of N”, the last group may be smaller.
