What can this tool do?
A one-shot bill calculator for splitting checks: enter the amount, tap a common tip percentage or type your own, stack on a discount (as an amount or a percentage), then divide by the number of people. If people ordered differently, tick weighted shares and give each person their portion to see what each owes. The per-person figure is shown up top, with subtotal, tip, total and the effective tip rate below. Everything runs locally.
FAQ
Is the tip calculated on the original or discounted amount?
This tool applies the tip to the discounted subtotal — discount first, then tip — which matches typical restaurant practice. If the venue tips on the original amount, leave the discount empty.
How do I enter a discount?
By default you type the amount taken off (e.g. 20 off). Tick "As percent" and the field becomes a discount rate instead (e.g. 10 means 10% off).
